Privacy Policy
The short version
Rouge Works LLC, which makes Thenscape, doesn't collect any data about you. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't send anything to us. Your photos and everything you add to them stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account.
What Thenscape keeps, and where
To line up repeat photos, Thenscape stores on your iPhone:
- the photos you take or import, and their dates;
- the names, notes, tags, favourites and reminders you add;
- the readings taken with each photo, such as compass heading, tilt and lens;
- where each photo was taken, if you allow location access, including any location already saved in photos you import.
None of this is sent to Rouge Works or anyone else.
iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, Thenscape keeps your subjects and photos in sync across your devices using Apple's iCloud, in your own private iCloud database. Rouge Works can't see or open that data. Apple's privacy policy covers how iCloud stores it. To stop syncing, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, and turn off Thenscape.
Backups
If you set up backups, Thenscape copies your photos to a folder you choose, such as one in iCloud Drive or on your iPhone. They go only where you choose.
Permissions
- Camera: to take photos lined up over earlier ones.
- Location (only while you're using the app): to save where each photo was taken, show it on a map, suggest earlier photos near you, and point you back to the spot.
- Photos (add only): to save videos and GIFs you export, when you choose Save. Thenscape can't read your photo library; when you import, you pick the photos yourself.
- Notifications: for the reminders you set. They're scheduled on your device.
You can change any of these in the Settings app at any time.
Sharing
When you share a photo, video or comparison, you choose where it goes, and the app or service you share it to handles it under its own policy.
Purchases
Thenscape Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and Rouge Works doesn't receive your name, email or payment details. We only see totals in Apple's sales reports.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us crash reports for Thenscape. They don't identify you, and we use them only to fix bugs.
Children
Thenscape collects no data from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Delete a subject or photo in the app, and it's removed from your devices and your iCloud. Deleting the app removes what's stored on that iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Backup folders stay until you delete them in the Files app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If Thenscape ever starts collecting data, it will ask you first.
